Licenses were granted to Energy Products Co., Ltd. (ENEPRO). , for Tokai University’s patented technologies including the straight-blade vertical-axis wind turbine and hydrodynamic generator. Tokai University and ENEPRO jointly developed the “Straight Blade Vertical Axis Type Wind Turbine Power Generation System.” This system is currently being further developed, manufactured and sold by ENEPRO on a commercial basis.

Features of Straight Blade Vertical Axis Type Wind Turbine

・Same aerodynamic lift type as propeller turbine; non-directional design eliminates the need to face the wind direction and thus enables the most efficient power generation of any wind turbine generator system.

・Non-directional turbine makes projected annual energy production achievable.

・No wind noise as in propeller turbines or vibration when facing the wind. This low noise, low vibration feature allows installation in urban areas.

・Different shapes can be selected depending on the condition of location by changing the combination of the diameter and height of the wind turbine. Same performance is maintained.
